May 2011 Crochet for the Needy

I have finished this months crocheting for the needy with 6 days left in the month lol not to bad if I say so myself with everything going on and needing to be done! I did the same pattern for the adult hats and the baby hats, but this time for the scarves I used the same pattern but made them much long about double the length because I feel some people like to wrap them around not just drape them over. Next month I think if I have time I am going to change things up a bit not sure how lol not much you can do with something that is supposed to plain. I am sure I will come up with something though. Now with the rest of this month I can work on making cat nip toys.

My First Custom Crochet Order

I was super excited when I received my first custom order for a crocheted crib blanket is light blue and light purple. After 15 hours (three days real time) of work on the blanket I had to pull it out because I messed up the tension I was rather upset about it. I love to crochet and I am very good at it; however, sometimes I do not pay enough attention I guess. Well after ripping it all out again which by the way only took me an hour to do lol I started again and this time I finished the blanket in 21 hours crochet time 9 days real time which isnt bad I guess for having to rip the whole things out. I did one of my own patterns which I made up as I went lol and I used a boarder out of my boarder book which is a 5 row boarder. It turned out very nice if I do say so myself.

I am just hopping when the person comes to pick it up she will feel the same way about it!

May 2011 Vist with Owen

Today the rain aside we had a wonderful visit with Owen and his adoptive parents. He is so smart and growing so fast! He is 18 months and super smart talking away and didn't play shy with us. He loved the Easter gifts that we got for him. He doesn't talk alot but when he dose he has something to say lol. We played with the blocks that we got him for Easter he knew just what to do with the screw driver that came with the set and the hammer too. He was in a wonderful mood, but teething again so much drool lol. They are waiting on the daycare to have a spot to move him from the baby room to the toddler room. He is the biggest one in the baby room. He loves hockey so much his favourite toy is his mini stick which he was very happy to show off to me today.We are planning another visit this soon. This time though with my mom and sister and they want us to bring Ace! I miss him so much and it makes me feel so good when I see him. I used to cry everytime we left from a visit but now I don't he is so happy, they are so happy and he is doing so great.

April Crochet for the Needy

Finaly finished the crochet for the needy from April lol. With school ending and exams I just didn't have to time to get it done.

I have finished 4 Adult hats, 4 Adult scarves, and 4 Baby hats!

This putting me at 24 Scarves, 24 Adult hats, and 24 Baby hats. Which puts me at a grand total of 96 items for the needy.

Birth-Moms Day 2011

So this weekend is always hard for me and its the second Birthmothers day for me. This year I went for breakfast did some shopping and planted all of my flowers. I did everything in my power to keep busy because as long as I am busy I dont over think and when I dont over think I am not a basketcase. I had a wonderful day however I blew through completely unfocused and pretty much just here kinda day!!!! Now I am going to bake and relax the rest of the night!


This is not a long note because I am so tired that this is all I have left to give!!
I got this in the mail about 2 days before Birth moms day from the adoptive family and Owen. I cried when I got it. It was so thoughtful.

EASTER 2011

Easter was fun lol....Richards mom and dad came. My mom, Sister and her fiancee came and our roommate Len was here. I made Ham, Mashed potatoes, Pee, Glassed carrots, turnip, rolls, squash, and mom brought her awesome scalloped potatoes :) for dessert I made mini apple pies which were a hit as well as old fashion strawberry pie which well didn't last the night it was so good. From what everyone told me it was an awesome meal. We were short a few people this year and that was a bit of a bummer but we all gotta do what is important to us... As with any family gathering a few things went wrong lol. My stove died just as I was finishing boiling the potatoes it was a good thing everything was done cooking; however it still sucked lol I was without a stove for 2 days :S.. The next thing that happened was the tree guys decided that it would be a good time to come and start the cutting down of our tree so we had to close all the kitchen and dinning room windows :s it was hot and stuffy to say the least. Ace was wonderful he greeted everyone as they came in. When we sat down to have our dinner he went to sleep under the table. He was very well behaved I an very proud of him. Even with the couple bumps in the day it was a great day and everyone enjoyed the meal! Next up thanksgiving lol
